ProPrintsOnline is a division of Spectrum Photographic Limited. Spectrum has a long established reputation for producing c-type photographic prints of the highest quality for many well known photographers and artists. We print digital files onto Fuji crystal archive photographic paper with our Durst Theta ( 30” Lambda ). Please note, your images will not be opened by us prior to their printing.
We make our own printer profiles using the most accurate profiling process and we ensure that every profile is regularly checked. Download and find out more about our softproof profiles here ›
Images should be saved as either .jpeg or .tiff files. When using .jpeg files we recommend photoshop compression between 10-12 which will still give fast uploads with no loss of quality. For clients wishing to upload .tiff files please use 8 bit, flattened files and do not use LZW compression.
Images can be uploaded at the final print size or you can resize and add borders within the system, it will show you what the printed dpi of your image will be for the size you choose. We recommend a dpi of at least 150 dpi for good quality prints to a maximum of 300dpi. ProPrintsOnline will recognise your embedded profiles such as Adobe ’98 and sRGB and will ensure accurate printed colours.
Our online system calculates the exact amount of paper required to print your order and displays the exact price every time you make an edit.
Information and help is available throughout the ordering process, however below is a brief outline of how the system works:
Select your images
You can upload single or multiple files either as .tiff or .jpeg format. We recommend uploading .jpeg files that have been saved using minimal compression. This gives very good quality results with faster upload times.
Upload
The time taken to upload your order will depend on your upload speed which is often much slower than your download speed. You should be able to leave your computer to do something else will your images continue to upload without any problems. It may be necessary to check your computers energy saving features so it does not hibernate while uploading an order. It is faster to upload an image and then add the borders as borders will increase file size.
Sizes and Paper
You can check the printing size of your file and adjust or add borders or amend quantities before proceeding. All finished sizes are approximate.
